The First GEN Seminar of 2000 Begins Tomorrow

The next Global Educators' Network seminar, sponsored by the TeleLearning Network of Centres of Excellence begins January 3, 2000. Please join us for a discussion on:

Time Management: A Collective Guide for Online Instructors

We welcome Dr. Thérèse Laferrière, professor of pedagogy at Université Laval. Thérèse is co-leader of Theme 7 "Educating the Educators" within the TeleLearning Network of Centres of Excellence.

This is Part II in a series of seminar discussions about time management. Results of the first seminar, also moderated by Thérèse Laferrière, provided a framework to develop a guide about time management. This month's seminar is open to a wider audience to review the work completed so far, and to further develop ideas for the collective guide.

Let's Hear From You

In addition to hosting monthly seminars, the Global Educators' Network is committed to helping educators form online communities based on common interests and goals. We encourage you to introduce yourself in the "Self Introductions" conference http://www.vu.vlei.com/vu/tlnce/cgi-bin/VG/VF_dspcnf.cgi?ci=30 and to contact us (currie@idmail.com) with your ideas for seminar topics and special interest groups.

The Use of Cases in the Online Classroom

Our second GEN seminar, moderated by Jean Gunderson of Douglas College, was held over by popular demand! In anticipation of busy schedules in preparation for the holiday, we had planned to end the seminar on December 17. But it seems there were too many unfinished threads of discussion underway, so Jean kept the doors open another week. Thank-you Jean for a successful and dynamic seminar on the use of cases in the online classroom.
