Faculty Sharing and Collaboration: Part I: Course Design Exchange

10 April 2000 - 30 April 2000
Facilitated by Jennifer Lieberman and Stanley Shapiro

Educators get great ideas by SEEING other people's work and
discussing it among peers. In this seminar participants will work
within a practical framework to explore, share, and critique real
examples of real online courses. Members will identify strengths and
weaknesses of online curriculum, and offer suggestions for
improvement.

This is Part 1 in a two-part series on Faculty Sharing and Collaboration.

The GEN April seminar will be facilitated by Jennifer Lieberman,
Computer Assisted
Instruction Specialist at the University of Illinois, and Stanley
Shapiro, Professor Emeritus and past Dean of the Faculty of Business
Administration at Simon Fraser University.

Although our seminar leaders are involved in post-secondary online
education, we welcome and encourage participation from all educators,
trainers, instructional designers, students, administrators and
researchers. Please join us!

Annonce: Création d'un Groupe de Discussion Ciblée (GDC) / A New
Special Interest Group! (SIG)

Moderateur:
Michael Power (powerm@UMoncton.CA)

Michael Power

Understanding Online Participation: How, why and so what?

There's something to be said about participation in a seminar about
participation! Our March seminar has been extended by request as we
continue to raise new issues and search for solutions that will
benefit both researchers and instructors (often one in the same!).

It's not too late to register:

Tip for GEN members

Unfortunately, we don't have the resources to translate our GEN
Updates and materials to other languages. However, there is a free
service for translating text up to 1000 words, and web pages. This
service is offered for French, German, Spanish, Italian, Portuguese,
and English. Of course machine translation is not always reliable,
but it can sometimes be entertaining!
