About Us

Our lab is dedicated to understanding and supporting autistic children, youth, and adults. We lead five main research programs:

  • Developing AI-based technologies for individuals with sound sensitivity.

  • Partnering with autistic individuals to promote neurodiversity and inclusive research.

  • Supporting autistic students’ transition to university through the Autism Mentorship Initiative.

  • Investigating visual attention and social perception using eye-tracking.

  • Exploring how facial expression production and interpretation affect social interactions.

We embrace identity-first language and neurodiversity perspectives, ensuring autistic voices guide our work. We collaborate closely with SFU’s Autism and Developmental Disabilities Lab and also study fundamental mechanisms of attention and perception in neurotypical populations.
