COVID-19 Community Resilience Network

The COVID-19 pandemic took us all by surprise. It disrupted everything we took for granted – our work, our collaborations, our partnerships, our relationships. It forced our communities and systems to make rapid changes to almost every aspect of what we once thought was "normal".

The COVID-19 Community Resilience Network was a part of SFU’s broad and dynamic response to the pandemic. Forged from a set of principles to guide our action, the network’s approach emphasized working with and within communities. It was an invitation to “walk the talk” of equitable collaboration, and to mobilize urgent action to help make our neighbourhoods and community systems more resilient.

From April to December, 2020, we hosted 28 regular Zoom calls, we welcomed more than 200 people into brave conversations, and we moderated an active Slack collaboration space – SFUCOVNET.slack.com – that grew to involve more than 350 people.

Thank you to everyone who joined us at SFUCOVNET.
