SFU Galleries is pleased to be participating in the 10th annual Vancouver Art Book Fair (VABF), and the second edition presented digitally. VABF is an annual festival of artists' publishing featuring over one hundred local, national and international publishers, alongside a range of programs, performances and artists' projects. Visit SFU Galleries’ virtual table and use the comment feature to ask questions about our publications.

SFU Gallery has been publishing books and brochures related to its activity since the 1970s. In recent years SFU Galleries launched a Critical Reader Series. This discursive forum encourages critical writing and projects that run parallel to exhibition programming at SFU Galleries.

This year we are thrilled to announce the launch of Richard Ibghy & Marilou Lemmens: The Power Given to Abstractions that Make Us Stupid, a monograph co-published by Agnes Etherington Art Centre, Owens Art Gallery, SFU Galleries and Southern Alberta Art Gallery, with essays by Vincent Bonin, Lorna Brown, Richard Ibghy and Marilou Lemmens, Sunny Kerr and Melanie O'Brian. During VABF you can purchase it for 30% off the listed price at $25!

Under the guise of a certain quiet and disciplined whimsy, the art of Richard Ibghy and Marilou Lemmens holds a complexity of ideas, aesthetic force and allusion that overflows with interpretive valences. A collaborative and multi-authored first monograph, this rich body of text and documentation traces their recent decade of projects and exhibitions through graphing economic thought, speculative fiction and performance.
