BFA Project 2012

So Crazy It Just Might Work

March 8 – March 24, 2012
Audain Gallery, Vancouver

A visual art exhibition curated and organized by third-year SFU Visual Art students, featuring work by students from across the School for the Contemporary Arts at SFU.

So Crazy It Just Might Work explores the tensions and problematics presented by notions of utopia within the contemporary historical moment. That moment of cultural, political, and social flux is also marked by a sense of yearning, even if inchoate and diverse, for something different or better. The exhibition's theme is approached from critical and unconventional perspectives, using a variety of media. Rather than defining answers, however, the works included in the exhibition act as investigatory apparatuses through which to produce, reflect on, and engage new questions.

So Crazy It Just Might Work features work by Alize Zorlutuna, Andrea Creamer, Anna-Marie Repstock, Art & Text, Brenna Holler, Emma Brack, Felipe Morelli, Gabriel Mindel Soloman, Jacquelyn Ross, Jose Arias Montoya, Mairin Cooley, Mariane Bourcheix-Laporte, Meredith Carr, Peter Cross, Ramineh Visseh, Risa Yamaguchi, Ryan Mathieson, Tasia Mathot, Vanessa Krystin Wong, Whitney Chow and Yi Xin Tong.

Presented by the School for the Contemporary Arts at SFU.
