Biography

Raha K. Azar is a prominent Iranian female academic whose research focuses on Strategic Communication, Media Diplomacy, Media Diplomatic Discourses and Political Communication. Her book, "Media Diplomacy; Based on Strategic Communication," published in 2012, offers a holistic approach to the media diplomacy complex system architecture. Since 2005, Raha had been teaching and supervising students’ dissertation at both the PhD and Master's levels. Meanwhile, she has held several leadership positions in higher education, including head of the graduate department, director of the office for international scientific cooperation and development, and planner of online graduate programs in media studies, communication sciences, media management, and sociology of development in Tehran, Iran. Raha has also served as a Canadian Research Consultant for the David Lam Chair in Multicultural Education at the University of British Columbia, and Persian Consultant of Community Relations and Communications department at the District of West Vancouver. In addition, she has provided strategic communication and media consulting services for the submission of Iran's Heritage Creative Cities to The UNESCO Creative Cities Global Network. She is a dedicated advocate for global humanity and peace, who has made notable contributions to the design, designation, and implementation of diversity and social citizenship policies in Canada.
