About the Speaker

Dr. Bozena Kaminska is currently a Professor at Simon Fraser University's School of Engineering Science and a Canada Research Chair (Tier 1). She also serves as Director for NanoTech Security Corp. (TSX-V: NTS), and is Chair of the Board of Directors of CMC Microsystems. In February 2013 she was appointed to the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council (Board) of Canada (NSERC). Kaminska is a prolific inventor with major contributions to science and innovation. Five successful spin-off companies have resulted out of her research. She holds multiple patents and has authored more than 300 peer-reviewed publications in top scientific journals. Kaminska was named Innovator of the Year in 1997 by EDN magazine in the US and was the recipient of the British Columbia Innovation Council's Entrepreneurship Fellow Award in 2010.

About the Interviewer: Dr. Veselin Jungic is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of Mathematics. Most of his work is within Ramsey theory and the field of mathematics education. Jungic is a recipient of the Canadian Mathematical Society Excellence in Teaching Award and a 3M National Teaching Fellow.
