Exposure of personally identifiable information
SFU is notifying its community of a cyberattack on an SFU server resulting in the exposure of personally identifiable information. The personal information varies for each individual however data exposed does not include information such as banking details, Social Insurance Numbers (SIN) or passwords. The university is directly notifying all impacted individuals who have a current email address on file.

Simon Fraser University is partnering with Foresight Cleantech Accelerator Centre to advance the cleantech industry in B.C. and beyond. A memorandum of understanding will focus on shared areas of opportunity in cleantech development through SFU Innovates.
A new collaborative research project between SFU scientists, Fisheries and Oceans Canada, Coastal Rivers Conservancy, Wild Salmon Center and Indigenous groups will use genomic tools to guide the sustainable management of wild sockeye salmon populations in northwestern B.C.

SFU is excited to share that the university has once again been named one of Canada's top family-friendly employers for 2021 by the Canada's Top Employers project.
The Lyre, the World Languages and Literature magazine, is holding an open call for submissions for the magazine's 12th edition. The theme, New Normal, encourages responses that answer how life has changed this past year and tackles themes of isolation, community, reflection, perseverance, tenderness and connection. Early bird deadline is February 28 and final submission deadline is March 21.
