SFU Applied Science graduate shortlisted for prestigious new scholarship

SFU physics graduate Brendan Cottrell has been shortlisted for McGill's McCall MacBain Scholarship for his involvement with the British Columbia Marine Mammal Response Network and his work as a database administrator and drone operator. Entering SFU, Brendan was a Schulich leader — a recipient of one of Canada's most coveted STEM scholarships.

Quebec rapper Sarahmée a highlight of French language and culture celebration

This year's Printemps de la Francophonie, hosted by SFU's Office of Francophone and Francophile Affairs will close off with a virtual concert by Quebec rapper Sarahmée, available from March 26-31. Now in its 11th year, the festival holds lectures, panel discussions, workshops and more that celebrate the French language and culture.

SFU Community Shows Local Love Support For Annual United Way Fundraising Campaign

For more than a decade, SFU and the United Way of the Lower Mainland have partnered to fundraise and help United Way provide important services in the communities we live in. This past year was no exception and the demand was even greater. Thank you to the SFU students, staff and faculty that generously donated and raised approximately $80,000. Learn more about the variety of mostly-virtual events that SFU hosted.

SFU BlueJeans Videoconferencing Service to Retire April 15

SFU's legacy videoconferencing service, BlueJeans, will retire April 15. To learn about the retirement or explore alternative videoconferencing tools at SFU, visit the IT services videoconferencing webpage.

Students can earn $1000 with their Work-Integrated Learning Experiences

Do you know a student who is currently registered in a Spring 2021 course or program that has a work integrated learning (WIL) component? They may be eligible for a grant and a professional development (PD) opportunity valued at $1000. Deadline to apply is March 19.
