RETURN TO CAMPUS

On Thursday, August 5 at 10:00 a.m., SFU faculty and staff are invited to join the information session, Reconnect with Transit: A Return To Campus Webinar with TransLink

Learn how TransLink is continuing to adapt to changes due to COVID-19 and how this impacts you as we return to campus this fall. There will be a 30-minute presentation followed by a 30-minute Q&A session with a panel of TransLink representatives.

 

REFLECTIONS ON WORKING FROM HOME

UNIVERSITY NEWS

HAVE YOU CONSIDERED THE ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT OF STREAMING VIDEO?

SFU researchers investigated the carbon footprint of streaming media and confirmed that this activity is responsible for more than one per cent of greenhouse gas emissions worldwide. This percentage is projected to rise as video conferencing and streaming increase. Learn more about this research and what we can do to reduce our carbon footprint.

HOMEWOOD HEALTH DATA BREACH

Homewood Health, SFU’s employee and family assistance program partner, recently had a security breach that involves personal information leaked online.

Homewood Health has confirmed that there is no evidence that SFU information was part of the breach. They have also confirmed that the incident is closed and contained and that there is no active threat. Additional security measures have been put in place. NEXT WEEK: JOIN SFU'S LGBTQ2+ FORUM

On Wednesday, August 11, all LGBTQ2+ members of the SFU community are invited to a virtual forum hosted by President Joy Johnson and J.S. Woodsworth Resident Scholar Svend Robinson.

This event will be a place for LGBTQ2+ community members to meet with each other and discuss ways of increasing inclusion at SFU.
