RETURN TO CAMPUS

WELCOME NEW COMMUNITY MEMBERS TO CAMPUSES THIS FALL

This year we will be welcoming more new community members than ever before, including more than 40% of students and the staff and faculty who were hired during the pandemic. We are looking for volunteers to greet new community members, provide wayfinding and answer questions.

Volunteer opportunities:

  • Residence and Housing Move-In Day on September 4 (1-hr shifts from 8am to 4pm)
  • Student Welcome Day on September 7 (9:30am to 11:30am)
  • Ask Me Program (from September 7 to 17)

The transition back to campus may be a challenging process for some staff and faculty, but SFU’s Human Resources strategic business partners are here to provide insights and support teams as they adjust.

Hear from Erica Gooyers, strategic business partner, about step-by-step planning guides, resources for leaders and how to communicate with team members.

Thanks to the staff and faculty who joined us for lunch last week as we took in the beautiful views at the top of the Burnaby campus Transportation Centre.

Join us this week on Wednesday, August 18, to visit the koi and catch some sun in the AQ Gardens. Bring your lunch, sit back and enjoy the company of friends while taking in the sights and sounds of campus.
