Update: Faculty of Health Science

March 08, 2024

The provost would like to congratulate Tania Bubela, who will take on a new role at Aga Khan University as the new Provost and Vice President, Academic, effective July 1, 2024. Her last day at SFU will be June 30, 2024, however, she will be taking 3 months’ leave, starting April 1, 2024.

Dilson would like to thank Tania for her contributions to SFU and the Faculty of Health Sciences over the past seven years, where she has been serving in her second term as Dean. Tania distinguished herself as an energetic research leader who showed progress and respect in Reconciliation initiatives within FHS and across SFU. In addition, her own research addresses health and innovation systems, policy and practice, drawing together the life sciences, social sciences and humanities.

Tania has overseen a high-performing faculty well-positioned to bring tremendous strength to SFU as it expands its activities in the domains of health research. We are grateful for her many contributions.

A search for a new Dean in the Faculty of Health Sciences will be launched soon, and in the meantime, we will appoint a Dean pro tem. The provost will share more information as it is available.

Please join Dilson in wishing Tania well in her future endeavors.
