CALENDAR DESCRIPTION:

This course is an introduction to the modern history of one of the most exciting and complex regions of the world - the South Asian subcontinent. The political, social and cultural history of South Asia (broadly including India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Myanmar and Sri Lanka) from the early 18th to the mid 20th century will be covered.
