Dr. Leith Davis (she, her) is a Professor in the Department of English and the Director of the Centre for Scottish Studies at Simon Fraser University. She is a co-founder of the Department of English's MA with Specialization in Print Culture. Her areas of specialization include:

• literature of the long eighteenth century
• media history
• cultural memory 
• Scottish and Irish literature and culture

She is the author of Acts of Union: Scotland and the Negotiation of the British Nation, 1707-1832 (Stanford UP, 1998), Music, Postcolonialism and Gender: The Construction of Irish Identity, 1724-1874 (U of Notre Dame Press, 2005), Mediating Cultural Memory in Britain and Ireland: From the 1688 Revolution to the 1745 Jacobite Rising (Cambridge UP, 2022), and Jacobitism and Cultural Memory  (Cambridge UP, 2025) as well as co-editor of Scotland and the Borders of Romanticism (Cambridge UP, 2004), Robert Burns and Transatlantic Culture (Routledge, 2012),  The International Companion to the Scottish Literatures of the Long Eighteenth Century (ASLS, 2021) and Shaping Jacobitism from 1688 to the Present: Culture, Memory, Networks (Edinburgh University Press, 2025). 

She is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Canada and the Royal Historical Society as well as a recipient of Simon Fraser University's Faculty of Arts and Sciences Dean’s Medal for Academic Excellence (2010), the Cormack Teaching Award (2018) and the Amundsen Teaching Fellowship (2021).

A lover of traditional music and dance, Leith Davis plays piano, fiddle and stand-up bass with the Sybaritic String Band for their monthly dances as well as with other amateur musical groups around the Greater Vancouver area.
