Biography
My research focuses on social and moral philosophy within Black intellectual traditions, especially those in the nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
My dissertation, The Philosophical Formation of W. E. B. Du Bois, offered the first comprehensive account of Du Bois’s early engagement with figures and traditions in the broader history of philosophy. Articles drawn from this project have appeared in the British Journal for the History of Philosophy and the Archiv für Geschichte der Philosophie.
I am currently writing a book tentatively entitled The Radicalization of W. E. B. Du Bois. I am also editing a historical anthology of Black thought in Canada.
