About Alsu

Alsu Tagirova is a Sessional Lecturer in the School of International Studies at Simon Fraser University and in the Department of History at the University of British Columbia. Her research engages with the history of international relations and the dynamics of contemporary politics in China, Russia, the Korean Peninsula, and Central Asia. She has published in leading peer-reviewed journals, including Asian Perspective, Cold War History, Journal of Cold War Studies, Nationalities Papers, and Central Asian Survey, among others.
