Calling all 2014 SFU authors
The SFU Library is now accepting nominations for its eighth annual Celebration of SFU Authors event, honouring new works produced between Jan. 1 and Dec. 31, 2014 by SFU-affiliated authors, co-authors, editors and illustrators. Those eligible include current students, alumni, staffers, faculty members and retirees.
The deadline for submissions is Monday, Feb. 2, 2015.
Qualified new works (no reprints or revised editions) include books, book chapters, musical compositions, audio recordings, film or video recordings, art exhibit catalogs, theme-based special issues of a journal/supplement, original translations, substantive encyclopedia entries and poetry. The works may be published in print, digital or electronic format. Authors who qualify may submit their publications via a survey at http://at.sfu.ca/YSMWGp.
The library will hold a reception to celebrate the authors on Tuesday, March 24, 2015, from 3-4:30 p.m. at the Special Collections and Rare Books Division, 7th Floor, W.A.C. Bennett Library at the Burnaby campus.
Last year’s celebration honoured more than 135 works published by 105 authors. For more info, Cecilia Bernabe at 778-782-9919, firstname.lastname@example.org, and/or visit www.lib.sfu.ca/authors-event.
