SFU sports greats inducted into Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame

A trio of SFU sporting legends will be inducted into the Burnaby Sports Hall of Fame in early 2018.

The inductees include former women’s soccer coach Shelley Howieson, who led the SFU women’s soccer team to a pair of national championships in 1996 and 2000; track star Ruky Abdulai, who competed for Canada in heptathlon at the 2008 Beijing Olympics; and SFU water polo club team coach John Stockdale, who won 11 national titles.

They will be honoured at the 17th annual induction banquet at the Metrotown Firefighters Hall on Feb. 22, 2018.
