Major Crime and Criminal Intelligence Analysis for Law Enforcement CRIM 409 (3)
Discover how police and intelligence agencies leverage crime and intelligence analysis though hands-on labs using software amenable to geospatial and network analysis. Explore structured analytic methods, competing hypotheses and the intelligence cycle, while examining theories and strategies that harness analytics to reduce crime. Prerequisite: CRIM 101 and CRIM 135. Students with credit for CRIM 449 or CRIM 417 under the title "Criminal Intelligence Analysis", "Evidence and Investigative Techniques", or "Major Crime and Forensic Analysis for Law Enforcement" may not take this course for further credit.
