Advanced Stone Tool Technology ARCH 782 (4)

An in-depth study of types of stone tools and how they were manufactured and used throughout world prehistory. Includes identifying stone tool raw materials, fracture mechanics, analyzing stone tools, and theoretical approaches to understanding their functions and roles in the past. Students receive hands-on experience making stone tools. Prerequisite: This course is only available for archaeology graduate students. Department permission is required. Students with credit for ARCH 382 or ARCH 485 may not take this course for further credit.
