The Cultural Industries in Canada: Global Context CMNS 230 (3)
Students learn about cultural industries from an introductory perspective, focusing on how broader societal developments, organizational interests, audience decisions, and governmental actions shape the creative processes, the working conditions, and the infrastructures that enable or control the distribution and consumption of content. Students will learn about various realms within the sector, including film, publishing, gaming, music, journalism and the arts. Prerequisite: CMNS 130 with a minimum grade of C-.
