Museums, Education, and Society EDUC 312 (3)

Examines museums as dynamic public institutions shaping relationships among environment, culture, art, education, and society. Students explore historical evolution, representation, decolonization, and learning through scholarship and fieldwork. With a blended format, they develop pedagogical approaches that connect museums and schools while addressing contemporary social, cultural, and environmental challenges. Prerequisite: 60 units including three units in EDUC. Students with credit for EDUC 398 under the title "Museums, Education, and Society" may not take this course for further credit.
