Schedule terminology

The schedule of classes can be found at go.sfu.ca.

Use the Search for Classes function on the Student Information System to check for class schedule information:

  1. Click on "Class Search" from the left menu in the Student Information System, or click on the green "search for classes" box when you're logged in the Student Center.
  2. Select term and subject.
  3. Click on "search for classes".
  4. Click class number or section to see class details.

Terminology

PREREQUISITE A requirement that must be fulfilled BEFORE taking the class.
COREQUISITE A requirement that must be fulfilled AT THE SAME TIME as enrollment in the class.
CLASS NUMBER Computer assigned number selected at random, to be used during online enrollment.

  • D = Day
  • E = Evening
  • C = Distance Education
  • F = French
  • J = SFU NOW
  • U, W, X, Y, Z = Education Professional
  • V = Video conference
TYPE OF MEETING
  • Lec = Lecture
  • Fld = Field School
  • Sec = Section with no meeting time
  • Lab = Laboratory
  • Std = Studio
  • Opl = Open Laboratory
  • Olc = Online Conference
  • Stl = Studio Laboratory
  • Rql = Required Laboratory
  • Tut = Tutorial
  • Sem = Seminar
  • Pra = Practicum
  • Wks = Workshop
  • Ins = Instruction
DAYS THE CLASS MEETS
  • Mo = Monday
  • Tu = Tuesday
  • We = Wednesday
  • Th = Thursday
  • Fr = Friday
  • Sa = Saturday
  • Su = Sunday
NAME OF INSTRUCTOR When known, a name is given.
