Jim Derbyshire is a mentorship rockstar

SFU Venture Connection’s founding mentor-in-residence, Jim Derbyshire, has been named one of Canada’s Top 10 Mentor Rock Stars by Startup Canada, a non-profit network launched in 2012 to promote the Canadian entrepreneurship community.

The title recognizes his volunteer work and strong track record in helping ventures succeed. Derbyshire, a serial entrepreneur, CEO, angel investor, mentor and consultant, joined Venture Connection in 2009. He spends several days each month mentoring businesses in the Venture Connection program and at the VentureLabs Accelerator. He is also active in other mentoring programs in the Lower Mainland.
