Biography

Martin Pochurko joined SFU as Vice-President, Finance and Administration in October 2015. In this role, he provides strategic direction and vision to the Facilities, Finance, Information Technology and Security, Safety and Risk Services, and Ancillary functions of the University.

Prior to his appointment, he was the Chief Financial Officer for the Fraser Health Authority from 2012 – 2015. His career also includes a previous role at SFU where he served as Associate Vice-President, Finance from 2007 – 2012 and as the Director of Financial Reporting and Budgeting at UBC from 2003 – 2007. He held several senior management roles during 15 years at the Insurance Corporation of British Columbia his most recent being the Associate Vice-President, Financial Services.

In addition to his senior administrative role at SFU, Martin is also the co-chair of the Administrative Services Collaborative Steering Committee. The Administrative Services Collaborative (ASC) is a collaboration on administrative and support services between B.C.’s 25 public post-secondary institutions, BCNET and the Ministry of Advanced Education, Skills and Training. Since 2012, the ASC has achieved sector benefits through sharing contracts, resources, expertise, ideas and best practices.
