January 9

First class meeting

Suzanne will cover course expectations, structure, and readings, and discuss work for the following week (literature review and proposal draft).

Group will share & discuss research questions and carry out observation activities.

   

February 6

Peer-led meeting

Students will divide into two separate groups of 6 each to present their chosen methodology, in powerpoint format.

   

Olympics (February 13-27)

Skype tutorials with Suzanne

To be arranged individually. At least 15 minutes' discussion on your research topic.

Come prepared with the following information:
- what methods & instruments you're using
- where you got it from (readings)
- what happened when you piloted it & how you're refining it

   

March 27 - April 3

Skype meetings with Suzanne, Nick & Milena

To be arranged individually, 15-20 minute Skype conversation.

Students will discuss issues, insights, problems & surprises they've encountered over the course of their fieldwork, and will address with the instructor any concerns with the final presentation & paper.

   

April 10

FINAL PRESENTATIONS!

Each student will present an overview of their research project and share their findings with the class.
