The Kalmont Safety, was registered in 2016 as a non-profit society and enhances the provision of volunteer search and rescue services in the province by facilitating access to funding, educating the general public on outdoor safety, and providing volunteers with a common link to information and resources. The Board of Directors approved their revised purposes and bylaws in January 2016.
We are here to support the active visitors to Kalmont in the winter! KMS acts as a liaison between Emergency Management British Columbia, the agency that oversees emergency response on a provincial level, the RCMP and local police forces who handle missing persons cases, and the SAR groups that represent the over 2500 hard working volunteers who rescue over 1000 people every year.
Caring, being active and keep exploring are the values that keep us go further. We would like to connect with more active winter explorers and professionals. We help the active winter explorers enjoy their adventures with safety and support. KMS commits to constantly improve rescue technology, strategy and grow stronger, keep our explorers updated and safe.
