IEEE HPSR 2014 presentation at IEEE HPSR 2013
The 15th IEEE International Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing (HPSR 2014) will be held in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada from July 1 to July 4, 2014. HPSR 2014 continues its tradition of offering offer world-class tutorials held by internationally renowned experts in the area ofhigh-performance switching and routing.
Please visit http://www.ieee-hpsr.org for information about the conference, its venue, and the Call for Papers. IEEE HPSR2014 aims to address the following (non-exhaustive) list of topics:
- Architectures of high-performance switches and routers
- High-speed packet processors
- Address lookup algorithms
- Packet classification, scheduling, and dropping
- Switching, bridging, and routing protocols
- Latency and buffer control
- Multicasting
- P2P routing
- Routing in wireless, mobile and sensor networks
- Optical switching and routing
- Switching, bridging, and routing in data centers and clouds
- Software defined networking
- Data placement and migration
- Multiprocessor networks
- Network management
- Pricing, accounting, and charging
- QoS and scalability of switching, bridging, and routing
- Traffic characterization and engineering
- Power-aware switching, bridging, and routing protocols
- High-speed network security
Scope: HPSR attendees come from mixed backgrounds and interests in switching and routing. Tutorials are intended to cover all areas of interest for HPSR as listed in the Call for Papers. However, we encourage tutorials of broad applicability rather than those focusing solely on research in a limited domain or by a particular group.
Equipment: HPSR will provide internet access and rooms with standard presentation equipment. Hands-on tutorials should be prepared to rely on laptops brought by the participants.
Review process: Tutorial submissions will be evaluated according to, among other aspects, appropriateness and interest for HPSR tutorial audience, timeliness and general interest, clarity, completeness, cohesiveness of the proposal, and presentation history and teaching/speaking experience of the presenters.
Publication: All materials should be submitted to the Tutorials Chair and will be released to the attendees. Submitters should explicitly agree to release the materials for this purpose.
How to submit: Tutorials may be either full-day (six hours) or half-day (three hours). Full-day proposals may include up to four presenters while half-day proposals may include one or two presenters. Half-day tutorials on new and emerging technologies are encouraged. Tutorial proposals should be submitted via email to the Tutorial Chair at hpsr2014-tutorials@sfu.ca. Although not required, we strongly encourage submitting samples of your presentation materials. You may submit these in a PDF format separately or as an addendum to your detailed proposal or you may supply a URL where the samples are located.
Tutorial Chair: Cyriel Minkenberg (IBM Research - Zurich)
The uploaded file should contain the following sections, each beginning on a separate page:
- Abstract: 200-word (maximum).
- Description of the tutorial content (maximum two pages) containing:
- Tutorial goals (takeaways for the audience),
- Relevance for HPSR 2014 attendees,
- Targeted audience,
- Audience prerequisites and content level (beginner, intermediate, advanced),
- Summary of general content,
- Listing of previous presentations of the proposed tutorial and differences/updates with respect to prior presentations.
- Detailed outline of the tutorial (one page).
- Resume of Curriculum Vitae for each presenter (four presenters maximum, one page maximum each).
- A statement agreeing to release the notes to HPSR 2014 tutorial attendees.
Submission: Via e-mail to hpsr2014-tutorials@sfu.ca.
