Chapter 44 A pearl of number theory
Project by: Liam Erdos, Linda Kingsman, and , Shubham Setia.
\(\textbf{Summary:}\) We were assigned to create a play about Ramsey theory and were tasked to create a story surrounding our course material.
The idea of adopting “Three pearls of Number Theory” by Aleksandr Yakovlevich Khinchin was initially suggested by Dr. Jungic, and after reading through the book, we were all excited to dive into this project.
During the initial stages of the semester, we focused on the structure of our play, how it is going to look like as well as how we will fit it into the timeframe. As the mid-semester report came closer, our rough ideas regarding costumes, props and the basic skeleton of our script was becoming more concrete. After filling out our skeleton scripts, we submitted them to each other for review.
Initially, we planned to give this play live, however, after getting some inspiration from other projects, we though it would be best to make it into a video. Reason being, we would have more control over our music, setting the scene as well as lighting. We think it was a good decision, as we were able to make the video monochrome, add the suggested music between scenes, as well as add other video of the war.
Below is the final script of our play. Thank you Dr. J for this wonderful idea, as well as this enjoyable course. This has been the highlight of my online learning experience.
