Important Information for International Registrants

Letters of Invitation will only be sent upon request to invited speakers who will be presenting papers at the IERG conference. We regret that we are unable to send Letters of Invitation to general conference registrants.

Fee Information

  • Fees are quoted in Canadian dollars and include 7% Goods and Services Tax.
  • All presenters are expected to pay the registration fee.
  • There are no reduced fees for presenters/participants wishing to attend only part of the conference.
  • Only full fee participants can purchase the dinner cruise ticket at the reduced/subsidized rate of $35 per ticket. All other participants pay $70 per ticket.
  • Accommodation, airfare, transportation costs, and meals are not included in the fees.

Cruise tickets for 4-hour dinner cruise, Friday, July 16

Join us on a dinner cruise booked on the MV Britannia which is docked at the Harbour Cruises Dock at #1 North Foot of Denman Street (just West of the Westin Bayshore Hotel).

The dock is an easy walk north on Denman Street (cross Georgia) and there is also a pay parking lot close to the dock.

The boarding time is 6:00 pm, sailing time is 6:30 pm (prompt) and the vessel returns at 10:30 pm. This is a four (4) hour dinner cruise with a no-host bar.

The Delegate registration fee includes admission to all conference sessions, beverage breaks, meeting materials and the Wednesday opening reception. People who pay the full fee are also able to purchase a subsidized dinner cruise ticket at a cost of $35. All other participants pay $70. Tickets are sold at cost.

Practicing Teacher (K-12)/Student registration fee includes admission to all conference sessions, beverage breaks, meeting materials and the Wednesday opening reception. Cruise tickets are available for purchase at $70 each. Tickets are sold at cost. Please submit a letter from your school (on school letterhead) if you are a practicing teacher. Letters should be on school letterhead and may be sent as an email attachment, by fax or mail to Conference Services. Students should submit a valid copy of a student ID card or proof of full time status.

Please note that the Practicing Teacher rate is only available to individuals teaching in the K-12 sector. Post-secondary educators are expected to pay the full fee.

Virtual Registration Fee entitles the participant to:

  • submit a paper for consideration and, if accepted, have it included in the proceedings;
  • have preferential access to the webcast materials, during the conference and for a limited period of time afterwards (3 weeks after the event);
  • participate in an online forum to discuss the webcast materials (one forum per broadcast session);
  • receive a copy, on CD-ROM, of the written proceedings from the event;
  • receive a copy, also on CD-ROM, of the webcast materials (i.e. the selected presentations that were taped at our event and broadcast over the web).

How to Register

On-line
Complete the ON-LINE Form. You will be given the option of paying for your
registration fees on-line via a secure server (Visa or MasterCard only).
Sorry, Simon Fraser University does not accept American Express or Diners
Club.

All credit card transactions will be processed in Canadian dollars and are
subject to current exchange rates.

By Mail or Fax
Complete the ON-LINE Form, print it and mail with your cheque or bank draft made payable to Simon Fraser University to the address provided below. Forms can also be faxed and cheques mailed separately. We regret that we cannot accept post-dated cheques.

Note: Faxed or mailed registrations will not be processed until payment is
received.

Cancellations and Refunds
Full refunds, less a $30 processing fee ($20 for students, practicing
teachers and virtual registrants) will be granted to cancellations received
by Monday, June 28, 2004. No refunds will be issued after that date. Refunds
will be mailed after the conference and will not be given to no-shows.
Substitutions are permitted.

Confirmation of your Registration
If you register on-line and pay by credit card, you will receive immediate
confirmation via our server.

Receipts
If you pay on-line by email transaction, please print out your receipt as
this will be the original copy. If you are an international registrant,
please use your receipt as proof of your conference registration if you need
to apply for a Canadian visa. If you pay by cheque, you will be given your
receipt at the conference registration desk.

Participant List Deadline
The participant list will show the names of attendees whose registrations
are received by Conference Services on or before Monday, July 5. Although
every effort is made to ensure accuracy, Conference Services can not be held responsible for errors and/or omissions. The list will contain your name,
organization's mailing address, and email address.
