- Registration Deadline for Early Fees: Monday, September 24, 2007
- Conference Registration Deadline: Wednesday, October 17
- Register on site after that deadline (space permitting)
Registration Fees
Fees are quoted in both Canadian and US dollars.
On/before September 24, 2007:
Early Fee: $200 CAN or US
Early Student /Low Income Fee: $75.00 CAN or US
As of September 25, 2007:
Full Fee: $250 CAN or US
Full Student / Low Income Fee: $115 or US
The conference registration fee includes admission to all conference sessions, the Thursday reception, Saturday Dinner/Dance, and beverage breaks and the Canadian Government’s 6% Goods and Services Tax.
- All attendees are expected to pay the registration fee and be members of the Union for Democratic Communications (see section on UDC Membership for a link to their membership form).
- All presenters whose papers have been accepted are asked to confirm their participation by registering ONLINE by 12 midnight, Monday, September 24, 2007 to reserve their spot on the program. Presenters who have not registered by this date may be removed from the program.
- There are no reduced fees for presenters/participants wishing to attend only part of the conference.
- There are also no reduced fees for those people who chose not to attend one or both of the social events (Thursday reception and Saturday Dinner Dance).
How to Register
On-Line
Complete the ON-LINE
form. You will be given the option of paying for
your registration fees on-line via a secure server (Visa or MasterCard).
Sorry, Simon Fraser University does not accept American Express or Diners Club. All credit card transactions will be processed in Canadian dollars and are subject to current exchange rates.
By Mail or Fax
Complete the ON-LINE
form and mail with your cheque, bank draft or money
order (made payable to Simon Fraser University) in Canadian or US dollars
drawn on a Canadian or US banking institution. No personal cheques,
please. There will be a $25.00 charge for NSF or stopped payment cheques.
Note: Faxed or mailed registrations will not be processed until payment is received.
Cancellations and Refunds
Full refunds, less a $30 ($20 for students / low income registrants) processing fee will be granted to cancellations received by Friday, October 12, 2007. No refunds will be issued after that date. Refunds will be mailed after the conference and will not be given to no-shows. Substitutions are permitted.
Confirmation of your registration
If you register on-line and pay by credit card, you will receive immediate confirmation via our server.
Receipts
If you pay on-line by email transaction, please print out your receipt as this will be the original copy. If you pay by cheque, you will be given your receipt at the conference registration desk.
Participant List Deadline
The participant list will show the names of attendees whose registrations are received by Conference Services on or before Monday, October 15, 2007. Although every effort is made to ensure accuracy, Conference Services cannot be held responsible for errors and/or omissions. The list will contain your name, organization’s mailing address, and email address.
Important Information for International Registrants
Letters of Invitation will only be sent upon request to invited speakers and to those individuals whose papers have been accepted for the conference. We regret that we are unable to send Letters of Invitation to general conference registrants.
UDC Membership
UDC membership dues are $50 US or Canadian, or $25 US or Canadian for Students / Low Income.
You must be a member of the UDC to attend this year’s conference in Vancouver. Unless specified otherwise, dues paid in Summer or Fall 2007 run through December 2008.
