Biography

As the Associate Research Grants Facilitator, Katrina works with FHS researchers to manage pre- and post-grant activities for funding opportunities from the Canadian Institutes of Health Research, MSFHR, the Social Science and Humanities Research Council of Canada, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, Grand Challenges Canada and other funding agencies.

Katrina has over fifteen years of experience in academic grant writing and research project management. She is also the Lab Manager and Research Associate with the Maternal and Child Health Lab in FHS.

Katrina has an MSc and PhD in Biological Sciences from SFU and was a post-doctoral fellow at the University of North Carolina and at SFU. She has conducted laboratory and field research and published on the influence of stress on women’s reproductive health and child development, as well as comparative reproductive endocrinology.
