Errors

The data for this project was a collaboration of various sets of data from different sources. With little knowledge of how accurate the data was collected or how consistent each set was compared to another. Issues with data retrieval from external sources are economically sound but often come with quite a bit of uncertainty. Meta-data was provided for most of data, unfortunately there is no universal list of required information exists. All the data provides a record of a moment in time of an area that is dynamic. Changes may have occurred during the production of this project and may affect the accuracy of the results.

The data obtained for the Tillamook forest was downloaded from the Oregon Department of Forestry website. The Tillamook forest is separated into three districts: Astoria, Forest Grove and Tillamook. Monitoring and data recording is not consistent reducing the accuracy of the project. Differences in symbology and labeling were either unique to a particular county or non-existent. Joining tables and attempting to display certain attributes was difficult.
