Conclusion

Performing MCE analyses requires a great deal of time, patience and technological savy. There are however, flaws in any spatial analysis and serve only as a guideline of real world instances.

This project has looked at areas in B.C. where a possible low-impact, high alpine ski resort might be located according to a number of critiera. The criteria in this project are only 10 out of an infinite possibility of criteria and to each variable exists anomalies and erratic changes. The world is extremely complicated and recreational development is complicated as well, taking into account the numerous variables that need to be examined. The variables examined in this project merely touch the surface of complex issues such as First Nations land claims, sensitive ecoregions, population density etc.

There are things I would have approached differently after having completed this exercise and gone through the motions of performing an MCE. In order to be more successful, this analysis would need a greater expansion of factor criteria and a more localized focus area.
