NOTES:

Grading is based on studio work, assignments, written and otherwise (including your journal), and demonstrated ability to integrate theory with practice. This also includes active class participation in all class work, including discussions.

REQUIREMENTS:

ATTENDANCE

Short version
On-time attendance is mandatory. Be changed and ready to work at 9:30am. If you are ill or have to deal with an emergency, and you will be late or absent, please text Su-Feh to let her know directly.

Long version
If you miss a class, you will miss not just information, but embodied information that you will be unlikely to catch up with, unless the teacher or another student takes time out of something or someone else to transmit this information to you.

Punctuality:
If you are late, not only will you miss possibly important information, you will also miss starting with the group. When you come in late, considerable energy will be spent by the teacher, as well as the rest of the class, to integrate you into the group.

Focus:
If you are watching from the sides - either because you are not well, or because it is not your “turn” - you will still need to be PRESENT by supporting your colleagues as they work. Your gaze and attention, or lack thereof, are important factors in the room. Whatever the reason, if you are regularly absent (in body or in spirit) or late, your grade will be affected because your work will be affected.

CLOTHING

Please wear loose and comfortable clothing, layers for warmth.

MATERIALS

A yoga mat and a meditation cushion (zafu) or bolster

ASSIGNMENTS AND HOMEWORK

Keep a journal: You are required to keep a journal as a means to record your process and progress throughout the course. I will ask to look at your journal regularly.

MEETINGS

2 meetings with the teacher are required:
- one earlier in the semester to discuss progress and goals
- one at the end of semester
