I am a monolingual BC English speaker. I have a zillion interests and hobbies, but at the top of the list you will always find language, and food. Before finally getting around to university I spent many years working in radio broadcasting, and tried my hand at public relations for the non-profit sector, but academia is where I feel most at home. My area of focus is sociolinguistics. I am most interested in World Englishes, Japanese, dialect change and lexical borrowing.
