Safe Walk

Need an escort? Campus Security will provide you with either a student patroller or a security officer who’ll take you to your campus destination. Contact Security 24 hours a day to request a Safe Walk. Call: 778.782.3100

Operation Provident

Campus Security has engravers available to all SFU Community members for engraving personal markings on thier property. If you live in residence, identify your televisions, stereos, computers, cameras, etc. by marking them with an identification number (usually your driver’s license number). Engravers can be signed out free of charge from Campus Security. Hard-to-peel decals are also available to assist community members in marking or personalizing their belongings.

Lone Worker

If you’re working after hours, contact Campus Security and let them know your location and the time you expect to be finished. They will then be able to check on you if an emergency occurs. Call: 778.782.3100

Motorist Assistance

If you’re having car trouble, a battery Booster Pak, maps and phones are available at Campus Security. Call: 778.782.3100

Lock Out Auto Crime

Campus Security is taking a proactive role to help reduce auto crime on campus. Parking lot audits and information displays are conducted regularly

Campus Crime Stoppers

A student-run program that highlights crimes on campus and offers rewards for information. Call: 1.800.222.TIPS or 1.800.222.8477

Emergency Phones

More than 100 direct-dial Campus Security Emergency Phones are located across the Burnaby campus. Exact locations are identified on an SFU map available at Security, but don’t wait for an emergency to learn the location of the phone nearest you.

Student Campus Safety Program

A student-run program that works to assist Campus Security in providing a safe learning environment for the campus community through patrols, outreach and information. Call: 778.782.5425
