The apartment is
located at 4bis rue du Cherche-Midi. It is 70 square
meters (800 sq. ft.) on the 5th floor (4eme etage), facing south toward
an attractive double courtyard. It is quiet and sunny. There is an
elevator. The neighborhood is elegant and relaxed. The location is one
of the best in the city, on a charming street, a few blocks from
Saint-German des Pres and Saint-Sulpice, with easy access to three
different subway lines and at least a dozen buses. It is right down the
street from the Maison des Sciences de l'Homme and a fifteen minute
walk to the Seine, the Louvre, and the Luxemburg gardens.
The apartment is
fully furnished, including two convertible double beds
that can be used as sofas during the day. The furniture is Scandanavian
in design or similar. There are comfortable leather armchairs,
oriental rugs and attractive prints on the walls. The apartment has a
good stereo and television and an Internet and wireless connection.
There
are two bedrooms on one side of the entry hall, and, on the other side
of the hall, a double living room, the back part of which can be used
either as a sitting area or as a sleeping alcove. The hall can be
closed off from either side. The toilet is off the hall and so
accessible from either side. The arrangement is especially practical
for families with children. (See floor plan below.) The kitchen has the
usual European equipment, including a washing machine for clothes. The
entry door is armored and there is an interphone. The building has a
concierge. There are schools and underground parking in the
neighborhood.
