This should reduce the workload slightly for you. Your storyboard however, focuses more on the beginning about how the scroll is stolen than the actual action. I would have like to see how you plan to layout the fighting scene in your storyboard in terms of the character actions & reactions. Also camera angles are key to really showcasing the fight sequence. In the script you provide a brief description of the characters but we don't really see that in the storyboard. Now, that is not a major issue but it would have been nice to tell the difference between the protagonist & the antagonist. The most challenging part will be the modeling of the characters and their motion development. I recommend playing & studying character movements in video games and conduct research on the Kung fu moves online or in books. This will determine the type of body movements you need to incorporate to achieve realism. Also by playing the games, I suggest paying attention to the lighting used because it would be a shame to create a good fight sequence with bad lighting. Another recommendation for you is making sure the pacing from scene to scene is setup correctly. In the storyboard we don't see that or change of camera angles. The old Bruce Lee movies had a real nice pace to the fight sequence and we really felt the realism of the action. Although the main bulk of your work will be the 3D modeling, sound effects will also play a crucial role. The character noises like grunts and yells are important. Of course the "hits" themselves must sound good and the audience should feel the impact otherwise we won't get a sense of the force produced by the punches & kicks. Study collision detection in Maya in order to make the action believable and realistic. Since your concept looks an old Chinese story, texturing of the clothing & hair of the characters should fit stylistically. Obviously, you do not want to over do it since you will spend more time texturing & modeling than finishing the story. This project will require a lot of work to pull off something amazing and I hope that you guys will commit and come through with it Good Luck
