LCR as a Catalyst for Cohesive & Systemic NbS in the City of Port Moody

This virtual poster, presented at the 2023 Adaptation Futures conference in Montréal, Canada, showcases how low carbon resilience (LCR) planning acted as a catalyst for cohesive and systemic nature-based solutions (NbS) in the City of Port Moody.

An ongoing partnership between ACT and the City of Port Moody demonstrates how the LCR approach can be used to advance more coherent and systemic climate action opportunities. By procuring risk and emissions data in one planning process, staff, decision-makers, and stakeholders co-developed awareness of key vulnerabilities and risks as well as key mitigation opportunities to prioritize strategies that promote synergies and minimize trade-offs between risk, emissions, equity, and other sustainability goals. In doing so, cohesive and systemic NbS emerged as a crucial LCR strategy.
