A Poem for International Day of Persons With Disabilities

Disability Folks is who we are.

We come from here, we come from afar,

With friends, allies and family who do support us.

Case Managers, Staff and Advocates who work extremely hard without a fuss.

I.D.P.D. is our day to celebrate the way we should do.

December 3rd every year, it is for us and all of you,

Red, gold, white, blue and green is on our flag with a grey background as it’s surround

Which shows ableism and all forms of disability which is around.

We are proud of our flag and what is says.

And we wish our governments would give us a raise,

So, thank you for being here and joining our celebrations.

The day of December 3rd as declared by the United Nations.
