Digital Storytelling

Digital storytelling (DS) offers a compelling methodological approach for exploring the intricate narratives surrounding Aging in the Right Place (AIRP) among older adults who have experienced homelessness.

AIRP recognizes that older adult’s environments need to support their diverse needs and experiences. This project engaged in a co-creative process with participants, intertwining photovoice photographs with their life-course narratives to illuminate the multifaceted dimensions of AIRP.

Central to our project is the co-creation format, where participants actively shape the narrative, lending their voices to the storytelling process. The integration of photovoice photographs serves as a visual anchor, providing poignant insights into participants' lived experiences and aspirations regarding their ideal living environments.

This digital storytelling project seeks to amplify the voices of marginalized older adults, shedding light on their unique housing experiences and advocating for inclusive policy measures that prioritize their diverse needs.
