We're Hiring a Creative Research Assistant!
We are looking for someone with a creative eye to add an artistic touch to our project materials! Reporting to Dr. Sarah Canham (Project Director), and collaborating with the Lead Project Coordinator, your responsibilities will include the following:
- Design and produce creative graphics, videos, and marketing materials for project activities. This includes infographics, graphical abstracts, and multi-use graphics/vectors
- Continue the development of the project website – improving, updating, and designing content
- Work with Lead Project Coordinator to curate and post relevant content on social media, primarily on LinkedIn
- Assist with digital marketing for project events – including flyers, banners, and promotions for webinars, podcasts, conferences, etc.
- Develop ready-to-use outputs for the AIRP-VABE team– including presentation templates, models, figures, icons, etc.
- Brainstorming creative and innovative ways to present research findings and reach diverse audiences
- Attend weekly meetings to discuss projects and progress
Required Qualifications and Experience
- Current SFU student (undergraduate)
- Advanced knowledge in graphic design, including experience with Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Figma, Premiere Pro, and/or Photoshop
- Experience with Canva and Microsoft Suite
- Experience with engaging audiences on LinkedIn
- Detail-oriented with excellent administrative, copy-editing, and content-creation skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Ability to follow policy, brand, and editorial guidelines
- Ability to show initiative and multi-task
- Ability to work well independently and as part of a group
- Knowledge of the field of aging and homelessness is desirable
Hours: Average 6 hours/week (may vary from week to week)
Location: Hybrid (remote or SFU’s Harbour Centre campus)
Compensation: $24.74/hour plus mandatory 4% vacation pay
Start Date: April 13, 2026
