Transform the SFU Experience, Faculty and Staff
SFU Earns Spot on Canada's Top 100 Employers List for 2026
We’re proud to be named one of Canada’s Top 100 Employers for 2026 and this acknowledgement reflects the contributions of every member of our community. SFU is committed to advancing opportunities that foster an environment where people can do their best work.
"My goal is to shape and elevate the people experience at SFU, creating an even more vibrant, connected, and inspiring place to work and learn," says Yabome Gilpin-Jackson, Vice President, People, Equity and Inclusion.
People are at the heart of SFU’s academic mission and success. Together, our faculty and staff drive innovation in research and deliver transformative learning experiences that prepare the leaders of tomorrow.
"Whenever I’m speaking with students, staff, and faculty, one theme always stands out: it’s the people,” she continues. “Their passion, creativity, and commitment transform SFU from a university into a true community. That spirit drives everything we do to ensure this is a place where everyone can thrive."
SFU’s faculty and staff experience is shaped by key institutional strategies, including the People Plan, a roadmap for enhancing the workplace through 2028, and the Equity Compass, which drives equity, diversity, and inclusion (EDI) initiatives. Together, these frameworks create a culture of inclusive excellence where everyone feels respected, supported and valued.
Canada’s Top 100 Employers celebrates organizations that create outstanding workplaces. Now in its 26th year, the competition uses rigorous criteria across eight areas, from work atmosphere to community involvement, to recognize leaders nationwide. SFU is proud to be once again named to this list for 2026.
