Teaching and Research Interests

My teaching interests and expertise is in the French teacher training program. I have a special interest in developing pedagogical material for teaching cultural diversity in second language courses, specifically in the Core French, French Immersion and Francophone Programs.

I am also highly interested in student teachers’ representations of notions of cultural diversity, and how those notions influence the ways they teach cultural diversity in their classrooms. Another very important aspect of my teaching is to work with student teachers on developing critical thinking strategies for teaching K-11 Social Studies. I have also special interests in classroom management through the Restitution approach.

I am currently enrolled in an Education Doctorate in Leadership under the supervision of Dr. Diane Dagenais. My research focus will be on the implementation of Aboriginal perspectives in the French Immersion program (K-12) in British Columbia.
