Renee Black, Executive Director, PeaceGeeks

Renee is the founder and Executive Director of PeaceGeeks, which launched in October 2011 and was one of the 2017 winners of the Google Impact Challenge Canada. Prior to founding PeaceGeeks, Renee worked for eight years as a Project Manager in the tech sector. She also worked on the Women, Peace & Security framework with UN Women and the Global Network of Women Peacebuilders. Her experience with these organizations played a pivotal role in launching PeaceGeeks, pursuing her passion for empowering people to make positive change a lived reality. Renee holds an honours degree in Commerce from Dalhousie University, a Masters of International Affairs with Honours from the University of Ottawa and is a Fellow of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations.
