Visitor collageAn Invitation to Visit IRMACS

IRMACS welcomes visiting scientists to the Centre, to conduct their research using the excellent facilities and to collaborate with other IRMACS members. Visit length is flexible and may be short-term (a week or two) or long-term sabbaticals (up to year).

Why Visit IRMACS?

To its visitors the IRMACS Centre offers an encouraging and inspiring professional environment in which they may pursue their research. The IRMACS Centre is the best place to learn about and get involved in the vibrant Simon Fraser University interdisciplinary research community. The standard of talks, seminars, colloquia, workshops, and conferences given and hosted by members of the IRMACS Centre and/or visiting academics is very high, stimulating, and diverse. As the IRMACS Centre hosts research projects originating from seventeen different disciplines, spanning from the School of Contemporary Arts to the School of Computing Science, there are numerous people with whom a visitor can discuss their research ideas. Visitors also have full access to the IRMACS facilities, technical infrastructure and the highly trained IRMACS staff.

Visitors have an opportunity to share their research with the IRMACS community. Visit the Events Page for upcoming lectures. For local visitor information check out the IRMACS Visitor Guide.

Who is Visiting?

The IRMACS Centre is host to visitors from around the world, researchers who are studying in a wide range of scientific fields. Past visitors have appreciated the IRMACS Centre, as evidence by the following statement from David Gunderson, University of Manitoba:

To say that I was impressed by IRMACS would be an understatement. The vision behind the project seems truly inspired. I think that it was an incredible feat to bring together the organization, the funding, the collaboration of so many fields, and the construction of your state of the art facility. I can hardly wait to visit again.
