MPP CURRICULUM

The MPP program is a two year cohort program that requires the completion of 14 courses (10 MPP courses plus 4 electives) and a co-op placement to be taken as follows:

YEAR ONE

Fall Semester
MPP 800 - Introduction to Public Policy Issues
MPP 801 - Economic Foundations of Policy Analysis I
MPP 803 - Political Foundations of Policy Analysis I
MPP 805 - Research Techniques and Quantitative Methods I

Spring Semester
MPP 802 - Economic Foundations of Policy Analysis II
MPP 804 - Political Foundations of Policy Analysis II
MPP 806 - Research Techniques and Quantitative Methods II
MPP 807 - Introduction to Policy Analysis

Summer Semester
MPP 850 - Co-op/internship



YEAR TWO

Fall Semester*
MPP 808 - Advanced Policy Analysis I

Spring Semester*
MPP 809 - Advanced Policy Analysis II

* 4 electives to be taken during year two (Fall/Spring semesters). All courses that are currently available are listed in the SFU course course catalogue.
Some of the current electives students may chose from are: Aboriginal Issues, Environmental Policy, Comparative Metropolitan Governance, Global and Economic Sustainability, Globalization, Managing Compliance: Delivering Policy, Acting Strategically, Exploring Social Locations: Women's Health and Policy in Canada, and Democratic Institutions.
