The MAE provides care for over 150,000 belongings. Their ongoing well-being is our primary consideration. Please help us safeguard these treasures for future generations by observing the following best practices.
Food and Drink
Please leave all food outside the Museum. We can only allow covered drinks into the Gallery. This helps us preserve the belongings from accidental spills and minimises pests.
Authentication
We are unable to provide authentication, valuation, or appraisals for any items. Consider contacting a certified appraiser for this service.
Photography & Filming
Personal photography without tripod, external lights, or flash is permitted.
Filming is permitted under specific circumstances and only with the consent of descendant communities. If you would like to film inside the Museum, please contact us with the specifics of your request a minimum of 30 days in advance.
Venue Rentals
The MAE is not available for private functions. We do, from time to time, host special events that align with our mission and mandate, such as small conferences, workshops or symposia, and student-driven learning opportunities. Please contact us for more information.
